Can I use the light, osram noxlite, to switch on at dusk and off again at dawn, without the pit sensor?

Yes that is possible. If you switch within max. 3 seconds Off, On, Off, On, the lamp lights without a sensor. This function is canceled after the next switching Off / On. --> see Installation Instruction (PDF, 8 pages, german) on page 6-7.
